Spicy Guacamole
Perfect for when you’re craving flavorful guac, but aren’t interested in slicing a bunch of vegetables to get it done.
Pro tip: make the spicy oil ahead of time (it holds for 3 months!) and watch this come together in less than 10 minutes.
[Ingredients]
3 ripe hass avocados, room temperature
2 limes, juiced
1 cup avocado oil
2 scotch bonnet peppers, sliced in half (use gloves!)
1 shallot, peeled and halved
Kosher salt
Tortilla chips (for serving)
[Method]
In a small saucepan, heat avocado oil, peppers, and shallow on low heat until you see peppers and onion slightly sizzling.
Turn off heat and cover for 30 min up to overnight. Strain into a squeeze bottle.
Mash avocado with the back of a spoon. Mix in salt to taste and lime juice.
Depending on how spicy you want your guacamole, add flavored avocado oil one teaspoon at a time.
*This oil holds well up to 3 months inside a tightly sealed container in a dark space.*
Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy immediately
